Engage in Supportive Social Interactions

Harness the power of social connections to improve emotional well-being and resilience.

Supportive social interactions, which include emotional, informational, and instrumental support, significantly enhance emotional well-being and resilience among diverse groups. Research consistently shows that social support leads to improvements in life satisfaction, reduces depressive symptoms, and boosts resilience, particularly in high-stress environments or among those facing health challenges. While specific percentage gains are often not detailed, qualitative benefits and measurable improvements are evident. For instance, Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs showed an 11-percentile-point gain, highlighting the importance of fostering social connections. Moreover, studies quantify the direct effects of family support and other supportive networks on psychological well-being.
